    Melissa Macpherson

    Co-founder & Executive Director

     

    Melissa strongly believes in the power of a clearly articulated purpose to drive performance, align stakeholders and improve social outcomes. After KPMG, she worked for a decade in investment banking. Following years of skilled volunteering, Melissa transitioned into paid executive employment in the for-purpose space where she found her home. Melissa brings her cross-sector expertise to support individuals and organisations striving for improved social outcomes and growth, and connects them to networks and opportunities to realise their potential. in

    Rachael McLennan

    Co-founder & Executive Director

     

    Rachael began her career in the corporate sector in business development, marketing and communications. After transitioning into the for-purpose space, Rachael worked at the coalface in fundraising, including having raised $1 million for terminally ill children at a national UK charity. Prior to People for Purpose, Rachael was the CEO of Australian Philanthropic Services, supporting the growth and proliferation of private philanthropy in Australia. Rachael is a non-executive director of the National Centre for Childhood Grief. in

     

    Mei Ling Ho

    Marketing Director

     

    Mei Ling has been working at the intersection of the corporate and not-for-profit sector for over 15 years and is a strong believer in the power of cross-sector collaboration to drive real, lasting social change. Mei Ling has worked in numerous roles at not-for-profits including the Centre for Social Impact, Australian Charities Fund and United Way, driving pro bono / volunteer programs and working with corporates to build their community engagement and cause-related marketing programs. She has worked in the commercial sector at Westpac, Nestle and Diageo, leading brand and marketing strategy. in

    Melissa Barrs

    Business and Operations Manager

     

    Mel comes to People for Purpose with a broad range of operational experience and a can-do attitude. She is responsible for ensuring the team is supported so the business can run smoothly and effectively to achieve its goals. Mel lived in London for 15 years and her early career as an Executive Assistant included roles at Ernst & Young, Deutsche Bank, UBS Warburg and Russell Reynolds Associates. On returning to Sydney, Mel joined the Adara Group, one of the earliest examples of social entrepreneurship, where she developed her passion for the ‘for purpose’ sector as part of their leadership team. She is a firm advocate for the commercial and not-for-profit sector working in partnership to bring about positive social outcomes. in

    Laura Abbey

    While completing a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Laura developed a passion for exploring and cultivating interactions between people and their environment. Laura has been an enthusiastic and active member of the People for Purpose team since the beginning. People for Purpose has enabled Laura to pursue her passion for improving social and environmental outcomes. Laura is a firm believer in the endless possibilities that are created through exceptional leadership. in

In partnership with People for Purpose, PCFT offer innovative ideation and planning workshops to help organisations begin to identify and then work towards their own objectives.
